L’Italiana Aromi SRL has joined one hundred companies in signing the IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Charter, which promotes sustainability in the flavour and fragrance sectors. This voluntary, inclusive project is meant to give the opportunity and tools for the signatory companies to contribute to a more sustainable future.

“In a moment like the present one, when the Covid-19 pandemic is causing huge economic problems, thus inevitably affecting the entire agricultural and food industry – explained Laura Tirelli, Managing Director of L’Italiana Aromi – having been one of the first Italian flavour manufacturers to join this collective effort takes on an even deeper meaning for us. Every company and every person are responsible for their impact on the planet, and it is our goal to also take an active part, so that future generations can live in a more sustainable world”.

L’Italiana Aromi is committed – now more than ever – to making a difference with regard to the planet, employee well-being, product safety, transparency and the business model to implement. And to make a difference, the Sustainability Charter launched by IFRA-IOFI relies on five key principles:

  1. Ensure responsible sourcing throughout the value chain;
  2. Reduce our industries’ environmental footprint and address climate change;
  3. Enhance the well-being of employees and ensure a rewarding labour environment;
  4. Be at the leading edge of product safety;
  5. Be transparent and a reliable partner for society.

The IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Charter has been designed to achieve clear, feasible goals that allow companies of all sizes to play a significant role in improving the overall sustainability of the fragrance and flavour industries.
